COVID Relief Fund

With generous support from All in Washington, the Afghan Health Initiative will be helping our low-income immigrant and refugee families, especially Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) living in more rural and remote areas who face barriers to accessing other resources and services during this unprecedented crisis.

The AHI COVID-19 Relief Fund will provide $500 to families impacted by COVID-19. The funding, if awarded to you, is intended to be flexible emergency aid, allowing people to decide how best to prioritize their needs for housing, health care, food, childcare, transportation, and other necessities.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • Funds are limited and we expect to receive an overwhelming number of applications.

  • We know that $500 doesn't replace your lost income, but our goal is to provide a meaningful amount of aid while assisting as many of our community members as possible. Not everyone who submits an application will receive funding.

  • Applications will be reviewed at the end of the week until all funds are expended.

  • In order for your application to be considered, you MUST complete all the requested fields accurately.

  • Applications will be funded first-come first serve to ELIGIBLE applicants.

  • Do not submit multiple applications. This will slow down the process.

  • Due to growing concern for our staff’s ability to work onsite with quarantines, potential mail disruption, business closures & overall need to speed up funding delivery, our payment delivery approach will be via PayPal.

PLEASE Be Mindful:

If you personally have access to funds, remember we have many community members who will rely on this aid. Only apply for funds if you are really in need. If you are receiving unemployment benefits, SBA loans and other government benefits you are still eligible.

Please do NOT follow up on your application, we will reach out to you if we need additional information and will do our best to process applications in a timely manner.

We are in this together.

Warmly,

Afghan Health Initiative
