The US is rushing to bring thousands of SIV Afghan nationals directly to the United States and to temporary countries abroad as they are awaiting their resettlement to the US. Many of these folks will be coming to Washington, particularly South King, (Kent, Federal Way, Auburn, Renton etc). Our Afghan folk have reached out to us directly who are planning to resettle in our cities, and we have been contacted by organizations large and small if we can support them with housing, emergency finances, healthcare, and overall resettlement assistance. As a small community-based nonprofit directly connected to our folks, we know that our new refugee community members will need emergency assistance, aid, healthcare, and basic needs resources.
This is the time that we all need to come together to help. As a CBO directly engaged and connected with our Afghan community, we extend helping hand to all resettlement agencies IRC, JFS, and LCSNW, WR and government organizations in working together to support our new arrivals.
