Meet Our Volunteers: Aisha Al-Sinai
Aisha grew up in Washington state for the last 13 years. She’s bilingual in Arabic and English. Aisha graduated from the University of Washington with a double degree, a BS in Public Health and BA in Medical Anthropology and Global Health, in 2019. She’s passionate about anything public health related, particularly social justice, improving health and access to healthcare, and disease prevention and intervention. She’s a strong advocate for immigrants and refugees and intends to help alleviate current hurdles in immigrant and refugee communities. Her immigrant background and experience working with immigrant and refugee communities has given her the ability to understand the importance of having resources tailored to immigrants and refugees that’ll ease access to available resources all-around. Coming from a worn-torn country with a crippling healthcare system, economic and political turmoil, and the largest humanitarian crisis, Aisha knows the struggles and difficulties immigrants and refugees face. She’s very excited to promote and advocate for immigrant and refugee health and community engagement. As well as, address public health issues in underserved communities. Aisha is always looking for ways to be active and to give back, especially to vulnerable communities.
