Academic Achievement Recognition Competition
Afghan Health Initiative
Academic Achievement Recognition Program- 2020
Afghan Health Initiative supports high school youth who live in King County through recognizing their hard work and academic achievement. Youth from immigrant and refugee families make up a historically diverse population and have experiences which vary tremendously in the K-12 educational system. We recognize all of the hard work our youth have been putting into school and know that with the COVID-19 pandemic disrupting the school system this year, it hasn’t been easy. Because of this, for the first time we are introducing the Academic Achievement Recognition Program competition to recognize two exemplary high school youth.
The Prize:
Two winners of this competition will receive Apple AirPods and will be featured in a video recognizing their achievements and life experience.
To be eligible, applicants must:
Be a high school student in King County, WA.
Be a first-generation immigrant or refugee.
Have excellent academic standing and grades.
Demonstrate academic promise and a commitment to education.
Plan to enroll full-time in an accredited two-or four-year college, university, or vocational/technical school after graduating.
